Amedee Island is a 40 minute boat ride on the MaryD ferry from Noumea. It is a special marine reserve surrounded by lovely coral reefs. The lighthouse, built in Paris in 1862, has a winding staircase to the top and visitors can climb up for a breathtaking view of the world's largest coral reef lagoon.
